Volunteer Voices- Carly & Mike Schwartz

What has been your favorite volunteer experience?

Our favorite volunteer experience has easily been JVCs Mitzvah Day.

How have you been involved with JVC?

We have co-chaired JVC’s Mitzvah Day for the past two years (this year and last) and have participated in it for the past seven years. We have also participated in other JVC Annual Days of Service events such as Good Deeds Day.

How have you found volunteering to be meaningful in your life?

We have found volunteering to be very meaningful to us and helps us instill a strong sense of giving in our children. Donating our time to the Baltimore community has enabled us to give back to those who need a helping hand.

What advice would you give to other JVC volunteers? What would you tell someone who may be nervous to commit or is new to volunteering?

Dive in! You won’t regret it. Don’t be afraid to try different opportunities to find the one that you enjoy the most. It is a truly an amazing feeling when you can see the direct result of your hard work.
