Live with Purpose- June Bagged Meals

In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, make bagged meals for our first community-wide bunches of lunches challenge! Bagged meals should be delivered on Monday, April 27th. Click here to learn more and sign up.

Create sandwiches and meals this month to support individuals experiencing hunger or homelessness.

Who are we helping? Meals will be donated to Weinberg Housing Resource Center an emergency shelter serving men and women in Baltimore City.

Jewish Values in Action:

  • Ha’achalat Re’evim – Feeding the hungry

  • Paper Lunch Bags
  • Crayons or markers
  • Bagged Meal Materials:
    • Bread
    • Filling: Meat, cheese, or peanut butter and jelly
    • (please do not put mayonnaise or mustard on sandwich – include separate packets)
    • Sandwich bags
    • Plastic knives (for PB&J)
    • One piece of fruit of fruit cup/apple sauce (No apples) per bag
    • One bag of chips/crackers per bag
    • One drink (Water bottle, juice box) per bag

  1. Make sandwiches- place each sandwich into a Ziploc bag.
  2. Set up assembly line of items that go into lunch bags.
  3. Decorate the bags with crayons or markers.  Consider supportive, friendly messages like “have a great day” and “enjoy your meal.”
  4. Fill the bags with the various items.
  5. Store the bags in the refrigerator or deliver them as soon as possible.
