Bookworms at Timber Grove Elementary School

Volunteer with JVC’s Bookworms to share the gift of reading with students at Timber Grove Elementary School. JVC’s Bookworms program engages volunteers once a month in reading to elementary school students to foster their love for reading.

Volunteers read 1-2 books to a kindergarten and/or first grade classroom. We ask for volunteers to bring a new or gently used book to read and donate to the class for students to continue to enjoy.

Restrictions: *Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) requires volunteers to complete a brief volunteer training that is available online at BCPS Volunteers – Division of Chief of Staff. The training is required to be renewed each school year. Volunteers must print and bring their BCPS Volunteer Application and Certificate of completion of volunteer training to the school office before volunteering. This can be done on the first day you volunteer. Volunteers will also be asked to have their driver’s license scanned the first time coming into BCPS buildings for security reasons.

All Bookworms sessions at Timber Grove Elementary (701 Academy Ave, Owings Mills, MD 21117) will take place on the following Wednesdays. Volunteers should arrive at 8:50 a.m..
