Clean and Maintain Parks and Lots with The 6th Branch (T6B)

Volunteers needed to help build, clean up and maintain lots and parks throughout the city.  The 6th Branch utilizes the leadership and organizational skills of military veterans to execute aggressive community service initiatives in Baltimore City.  There are four volunteer opportunities that happen weekly throughout the city to get involved in.

  1. Johnston Square – Volunteers will be helping to work on building a compost factory and greenspace.  Individuals should reach out 24-48 hours in advance to assure the most up to date information. Every Tuesday from 10am-1pm.
  2. Darley Park- Build and maintain Darley Park by helping to clean-up trash, minor landscaping, minor building projects and other projects that are happening on the given day of volunteering.  Every Wednesday from 10:00am-1:00pm.
  3. Broadway East- Broadway East is a new project so volunteers will help cleanup and demo before it can be built up. Every Thursday from 10am-1pm.
  4. Semper Friday- Semper Friday is an open volunteer opportunity for individual volunteers and groups to grab a shovel and pitch in with The 6th Branch.  The volunteers help run and maintain the Oliver Community Farm in its operations. This can involve minor landscaping, weeding. This helps keep the farm operational during the growing season (March to November) as well in the off months to continue to keep it clean and prepare it for the next upcoming season. Every Friday from 10:00am – 1:00pm.

Commitment: Volunteers can come once or as often as available. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am to 1pm.
Location: Lots and Parks in Baltimore
Restrictions: Volunteers under 16 should have adult supervision.

*Volunteers should wear close toed shoes, clothes that can get dirty, bring a refillable water bottle.
