Volunteers are needed at Northstar Baltimore to tutor/mentor children.  Northstar Baltimore (NB) is a free one-on-one tutoring/mentoring program that matches an elementary or middle school student in a low income Baltimore neighborhood with a volunteer tutor/mentor, with the goal of establishing a caring adult relationship to help the student become more successful.

For the new school year, NB needs volunteers to work once a week for 1.5 hours with students at virtually. NB will train and prepare you to be an effective tutor/mentor – just bring yourself and a willingness to learn and commit to a student during the school year.  Tutoring schedule is now up to the tutors, students, and families to determine what time works best for them.

Commitment: Once per week for 60 – 90 minutes
Location: Virtual
Restrictions: Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
*Fingerprinting, Child Protective Services Background Check required through Northstar Baltimore.
