Mitzvah Mobility Driver for Jewish Community Services (JCS)

  • Posted 4 years ago

Drivers needed to transport clients of Jewish Community Services (JCS) in volunteers’ cars to and from necessary appointments (medical, government offices, etc.).  Imagine needing to see your doctor but being unable to get to the office on your own. What if you had a very important appointment but had no one to take you? Older adults living in our community face these dilemmas every day. They need a ride, they need an escort; they need someone like you.  Most JCS clients live in Pikesville and Owings Mills, so JCS is looking for volunteers to drive and escort clients to medical and other necessary appointments in those areas. The program, Mitzvah Mobility, helps older adults maintain their health and independence.

Commitment: Flexible dates determined by organization’s need and volunteers availability.
Location: Most JCS clients live in Pikesville and Owings Mills
Restrictions: Volunteers must have a good driving record and pass driving and criminal background checks.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.
