Higher Achievement works to close the opportunity gap by working with middle school students.

Higher Achievement is seeking mentors to work with small groups of middle school students (help students pursue personal and education goals, gain awareness of high school, college, and career options, and more). Mentor sessions take place from 5:30-6:30, one evening a week for the duration of the school year. Activities and support are provided by Higher Achievement.

Commitment: One hour/week for a school year (September-May).

Location: Downtown Baltimore/Baltimore City (Graceland Park neighborhood)

Restrictions: All volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Background check through Baltimore City Public Schools is required (volunteer must pay, but Higher Achievement will reimburse). Training is required (virtual or in-person).
