Sort Sports Equipment with Leveling the Playing Field (LPF)

  • Posted 5 years ago

Volunteers needed to help with sorting sports equipment at Leveling the Playing Field!

Leveling the Playing Field gives underprivileged children the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of youth sports participation. They do this through the donation of used and excess sporting equipment to programs and schools serving low income communities. Their donations allow programs to allocate funds saved by lowering registration fees, expanding their scholarship programs, enhancing the existing athletic program or developing new ones.

Volunteers will sort and organize equipment by quality and category, reorganize shelves/inventory, and occasionally, assemble donations.

Commitment: 2 hour sessions, based on volunteer’s flexibility (may be one-time or recurring)
Location: Baltimore City/Downtown (Hampden neighborhood)
Restrictions: Volunteer must be at least 8 years old. Volunteers under 13 must have a parent/guardian with them. Volunteers must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time and be able to lift 20+ pounds. Volunteers should wear clothes they do mind getting dirty, bring gloves if they are not comfortable handling used equipment, and a water bottle.
