Friends @ Home through the Friendship Circle

What you the volunteer do:

Bring happiness and companionship to children with special needs by celebrating their individuality, as well as bringing energy, support, and peace of mind to their families.

What Friendship Circle does:

We focus on developing the values of altruism, compassion, and acceptance in our teen volunteers as we heighten community awareness and sensitivity and encourage a sense of responsibility and involvement.

Friends@Home gives children with special needs the chance to bond with teen volunteers in the environment in which they are most comfortable, their own home. Currently – all interactions are virtual.

Children and their volunteers spend 30 minutes each week playing games, creating arts ‘n crafts, reading books or doing just about anything fun that you can virtually!

While children and volunteers develop meaningful relationships, parents receive valuable time to rest and recharge. With so much to look forward to at these visits, it is no wonder the families wait all week for their volunteers to show up at their doorsteps!

Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 30 minutes each week.
Restrictions: Volunteer must be between the ages of 14 and 17.
