Friends @ Home through the Friendship Circle

  • Posted 6 years ago

Friendship Circle is looking for volunteers for their Friends at Home program! Friendship Circle gives children with special needs the chance to bond with teen and young adult volunteers.

Friendship Circle focuses on developing Jewish values, plus altruism, compassion, and acceptance in volunteers as they heighten community awareness and sensitivity and encourage a sense of responsibility and involvement. Volunteers bring happiness and companionship to children with special needs by celebrating their individuality, as well as bringing energy, support, and peace of mind to their families. Spend 30 minutes each week playing games, creating arts ‘n crafts, reading books, etc.

While children and volunteers develop meaningful relationships, parents receive valuable time to rest and recharge. With so much to look forward to at these visits, it is no wonder the families wait all week for their volunteers to show up at their doorsteps!

Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 30 minutes each week.

Location: Upper Park Heights/Pikesville

Restrictions: Volunteer must be at least 14 years old and identify as Jewish. Young adult volunteers (ages 20-30) are highly encouraged to apply!
