Drive Senior Members of CHAI’s Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC)

  • Posted 3 years ago

Drivers are needed to transport older adults to medical appointments and the grocery store.

Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.’s (CHAI) mission is to strengthen neighborhoods with a significant Jewish presence by developing and enhancing housing, affecting community development, and supporting aging-in-community. Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC) is a member-led community of active, creative and independent adults who connect with and care for one another through an array of support services, social and wellness programs, and cultural and educational activities to support each other’s ability to age in place. Help make a difference in the lives of seniors!

Many of the NNC members no longer drive, but still need to get to the store and doctors appointments. Most cannot afford a paid ride, so they depend on volunteers for rides.

Commitment: Approximately one hour of driving per week based on driver’s schedule and ride requests. Volunteer drivers are not obligated to accept any requests.
Location: Pikesville/ Upper Park Heights
Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
*Volunteers must agree to background and driving record check through CHAI and will receive training in-person at the NNC office
