Dog Walker at the Baltimore Humane Society (BHS)

  • Posted 6 years ago

Dog Walkers needed at the Baltimore Humane Society! Volunteers will socialize and safely handle dogs while out on a leashed walk or in a designated “off-leash” area. Communicate with the staff to report any concerns (signs of illness, behavior changes, etc). Follow all BHS cleaning and dog handling protocols to safely take dogs in and out of the runs for leashed walks and socialization time. Use approved enrichment toys to improve the dog’s mental and physical health. Log all socialization time on the Kennel Socialization Board. Pay close attention to details listed on the Kennel Socialization Board. You may choose to stay on a certain level; you are not required to complete all levels unless you wish to walk the dogs.

Commitment: Flexibility based on organization’s need and volunteer’s availability.
Location: Baltimore Humane Society
Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to walk dogs and be able to follow BHS procedures and protocols for dog handling.
