Collection Drive Volunteer at Leveling the Playing Field

  • Posted 2 years ago

Leveling the Playing Field is seeking volunteers to help with collection drives throughout Maryland.

Leveling the Playing Field gives underprivileged children the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of youth sports participation. They do this through the donation of used and excess sporting equipment to programs and schools serving low income communities. Their donations allow programs to allocate funds saved by lowering registration fees, expanding their scholarship programs, enhancing the existing athletic program or developing new ones.

Volunteers are needed to help collect and donate athletic equipment to Leveling the Playing Field. Volunteers would collect equipment and then possibly inventory/sort at the warehouse after.

Commitment: drives last 2 weeks, based on volunteer’s availability.
Location: Baltimore City/Downtown (Hampden neighborhood), various communities throughout Maryland
Restrictions: Volunteers be able to lift 20+ pounds and have access to car (car must be able to fit bags of athletic gear). Volunteer must have reliable transportation to the warehouse in Hampden, if they are also sorting. Volunteers  must be at least 8 years old (with parent supervision), and 13 years old (without parent supervision).
