Jewish Volunteer Connection’s Community Mitzvah Day!

Community Mitzvah Day, JVC’s largest and most well-known volunteer event typically engages more than 1,000 volunteers in a variety of service projects throughout Baltimore in conjunction with Christmas. Volunteer opportunities are available for every age and interest at our Signature Site, at home, and throughout the community. 

Impact of Community Mitzvah Day 2021 

  • 2,100 Winter Care Packages were assembled and donated to 10 different organizations in the Greater Baltimore Community. 
  • 217 lunches were collected and distributed in conjunction with JVC’s Bunches of Lunches program.  
  • 62 fleece blanket kits, 60 bagged meal kits, and 50 notes of encouragement were completed by volunteers at home through the Mitzvah Day To Go program.

  • Purchase items from our Amazon Wish List. All items may be shipped to the JVC office option provided (5708 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215). 
  • Create beautifully hand knitted hats and scarves for the Winter Care Packages by joining the JVC Knitters VolunTeam or by knitting independently. Learn more about our JVC Knitters Group and Knit Your Bit!
