Tutors needed at the Dyslexia Tutoring Program! The mission of the Dyslexia Tutoring Program is to work with low-income children and adults who are dyslexic or have a language-based learning disability.
They are seeking volunteer tutors, committed to tutoring students with a dyslexic style of learning for approximately 60 hours.
Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit one hour a week for about a year/year and a half (until 60 hours are reached).
Location: Baltimore City/Downtown; must take place in a public/community space (library, rec center, etc). or the Dyslexia Tutoring Program’s office in Hampden.
Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma. Volunteers must provide 3 references, complete application, and agree to a background check. Training (30 hours) in the Orton-Gillingham method is required and is in-person. Interviews are required.
