Volunteer at Beth Tfiloh’s Mitzvah Miles

Beth Tfiloh – Upper School Field – 3300 Old Court Road
Volunteer at Beth Tfiloh’s annual Mitzvah Miles walk/run! There are a variety of tasks for volunteers to fill, including help with water stations, course cheerleaders, and more!

Help Prepare Senior Homes for Passover
9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Park Heights/Pikesville
Together with CHAI, help Jewish seniors in our community prepare for Passover. Groups of 2-3 volunteers will go out to homes in the Park Heights and Pikesville area and do light housekeeping (cleaning fridges and ovens, and cleaning for Passover). All supplies will be provided.

Clean-up with Living Classrooms
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
East Harbor Campus – 802 S. Caroline Street, 21231
Volunteer will help Living Classrooms in their wetlands (the only living wetlands on the harbor) to collect trash brought in through the Harbor. Volunteers may also be working in the gardens (weeding, planting, raking).

Volunteer Restrictions: Volunteers should be old enough to handle cleaning tools.

Knit-In at the Park Heights JCC

Whether you want to learn how to knit OR you’re already a master, join us as we socialize and knit for a cause. Help us stock up on hand-knit scarves and hats that are donated to vulnerable populations during JVC’s next Mitzvah Day. Skilled knitters will be on-hand for instruction.

Create Movie Night Kits with Bolton Street Synagogue

Bolton Street Synagogue, 212 West Cold Spring Lane, 21210
Join Bolton Street Synagogue and create at-home movie night kits for critically ill children from the Casey Cares Foundation. If you are inclined, please bring movie theater and pizza gift cards, movie theater candy, bags of popcorn, and new pairs of pajamas to help make the kits.

Spreading Cheer with Joseph Richey Hospice Center

Volunteers will be decorating cookies and spreading cheer to the patients and families at Joseph Richey Hospirce Center in downtown Baltimore.

Weinberg Park Assisted Living – Serve Lunch!

Volunteers will help serve and clean up meals and socialize with the residents of Weinberg Park Assisted Living.

Park Clean-up at Middle Branch Park
1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
3301 Waterview Ave, Baltimore 21230
Volunteers will pick up trash and remove debris at Middle Branch Park, 1 mile south of the Inner Harbor, in partnership with Baltimore City Parks and Recreation. Please wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle. Tools and materials, including gloves will be provided (or you can bring your own!).

Create Packages with ShareBaby – FULL

Help ShareBaby wrap diapers, sort clothing and create care packages for Baltimore’s neediest babies and young children.

Mitzvah Projects at the Soul Center – FULL

Join the Soul Center and make body scrub for women in shelters and domestic violence programs. You are welcome to join Torah Yoga starting at 9:30 a.m. immediately preceding the mitzvah project.  Yoga costs $10/person, the mitzvah project is free. To register for the yoga, click here.

Young Adults Do Good Deeds Day: Inner Harbor Clean-Up – FULL, Contact Diana Goldsmith (

Join Repair the World Baltimore and other local young adults as we lend a hand to clean up the gem of Baltimore – the Inner Harbor! Volunteers will work with the Healthy Harbor Initiative to clean oyster cages, take water quality samples, learn about the strategies that are in place to make the harbor swimmable and fishable by 2020, and take a visit to Professor Trash Wheel! In partnership with IMPACT, Charm City Tribe, Moishe House, Chai Life, BAYITT, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity at UMB.

Tight schedule but still want to do something Good? Register for “Good Deeds Day to Go”! We will give you service project ideas, instructions, and places to give. Plan your own small project for your next gathering, sports event, or celebration. Register for more information or contact JVC to learn more!

Pre-Passover Food Drive – You can drop off sealed goods in the Chapel Lobbey of Chizuk Amuno (8100 Stevenson Road). Note: Matzah products will not be accepted.
